I'm reading material on the Libertarian party, and so far, I like what I see. The main selling points of the LP for me are:

• Major reduction in government
• Emphasis on personal responsibility
  
• Open immigration
• Anti-gun control
• No welfare statism

Some of the LP's positions make me nervous, like those on censorship, but overall I think that the LP more accurately reflects the attitude and will of our Founding Fathers. That attitude can be summed up in this sentence: "If I am not hurting another, then leave me alone." That's a maxim that I can live with.

I've requested information, but I can tell you that the big sticking point for me joining is the $25 membership fee.
